About Us:

Claigan Environmental Inc. is the leading provider of global regulatory and materials compliance testing of consumer products and medical devices. Our mission is clear: to empower our clients to navigate the complex landscape of compliance with confidence. We understand the critical importance of testing for substances such as phthalates, PFAS (forever chemicals), and various flame retardants. These substances, though useful in certain applications, can pose significant risks to human health and the environment if not properly managed. At Claigan, we ensure that our clients can trust the integrity of their products and confidently bring them to market.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Technician to join our team. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in environmental modeling and exposure to diverse global supply chains and industries.

Note: Experience in these LCA methods and software is preferred but NOT a prerequisite for this role; we are committed to providing comprehensive training and support to help you excel in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build accurate cradle-to-gate Life Cycle Assessment models using openLCA, the ecoinvent dataset, and customized in-house software tools
  • Collaborate with our internal testing laboratory, utilizing physical product testing data to build highly accurate Life Cycle Inventories (LCIs)
  • Work with clients to investigate and document manufacturing processes and distribution logistics
  • Extract and analyze large datasets to assist in the preparation of verified LCA reports for third-party verifiers, supporting the creation of EPDs and PCFs
  • Input raw material metrics accurately and log research findings into our internal tracking systems to maintain data integrity

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard modeling operating procedures
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to work in person at our office in Kanata, ON
  • University/College degree, or equivalent experience

What we offer:

  • A team that meets high-quality standards without compromising work-life balance.
  • Exposure to specialized knowledge at a company dedicated to the professional development and training of its employees.
  • A welcoming and collaborative working environment which fosters a strong sense of community amongst colleagues.
  • A workplace where employee well-being comes first and foremost.
  • We sometimes have brownies on Mondays

Claigan Environmental is committed to building an inclusive, accessible, and barrier-free workplace. We welcome and encourage applications from individuals with disabilities, and we are dedicated to providing reasonable accommodations throughout every stage of our recruitment and selection process.
