Position Title: Quality Manager
Position Type: Full-time, permanent, salary

About the Company
We are a growing medical device manufacturing company seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality assurance initiatives and support operational excellence. We are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and employee development while delivering high-quality products to our customers.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance, quality control, and auditing activities across the facility. This role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills to evaluate systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and support operational excellence.
The successful candidate will oversee quality-related programs and initiatives, monitor performance metrics, lead internal and external audits, and drive continuous improvement efforts. As a key member of the leadership team, the Quality Manager will work collaboratively across departments to promote quality standards, strengthen processes, and support overall business objectives.
Responsible For
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes that support operational objectives.
- Planning and conducting internal audits and coordinating external audits as required.
- Managing supplier quality programs and ensuring materials and services meet established requirements.
- Monitoring manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for quality improvement and risk reduction.
- Training, coaching, and supporting employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Investigating quality concerns, customer feedback, and operational issues, while implementing effective corrective actions.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and process performance.
Overseeing
- Quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the manufacturing process.
- Supplier and vendor performance related to quality expectations and requirements.
- Product testing, inspection, and verification activities.
- Problem-solving investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- The development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of work instructions, procedures, and quality documentation.
- Cross-functional improvement projects, process optimization initiatives, and operational excellence programs.
Requirements:
Experience
- 5-10+ years of progressive experience in quality leadership within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading quality teams in a production setting with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes.
Quality & Operational Excellence
- Proven experience leading internal and external quality audits.
- Strong knowledge of quality management principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of process improvement tools and techniques.
- Experience managing supplier quality and resolving quality-related issues.
- Proficiency in analyzing quality data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and improvement initiatives.
Leadership
- Proven experience leading and developing quality teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to balance accountability with collaboration to achieve business objectives.
- Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent certification.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
