Overview
Great new opportunity! This role is with our client, a global leader in Medical Devices (Diagnostics). They are looking for an experienced leader and Business Manager (Canada) with a background in Medical Laboratory Science, ideally with a MLT (CSMLS) license. This is a full time and permanent role. A hybrid opportunity: 3 days per week in Mississauga office and 2 days wfh. Up to 70% travel involved. Salary: Based on experience, full benefits, option of car or car allowance, full benefits, etc.

Responsibilities

Commercial & Sales Leadership

  • Own and execute the Canada business strategy to achieve corporate revenue, reagent, capital equipment, and market share goals.
  • Develop, forecast, and manage sales targets with full accountability for performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Canadian sales organization using consultative selling principles.
  • Partner on key account strategies, negotiations, and IDN engagements.
  • Monitor competitive dynamics and provide market insight to Marketing and Leadership.
  • Oversee regional expense budgets and financial stewardship.

Clinical Applications & Technical Support

  • Provide leadership for Customer Relationship Managers and clinical support resources.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of method validations, lot conversions, troubleshooting, demonstrations, and work flow studies.
  • Personally engage in complex or escalated customer situations.
  • Establish clear escalation pathways with Service, Quality, and Regulatory partners.
  • Partner with Training to ensure onboarding, competency, and continuous development.

Regulatory & Health Canada Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Canada-based point of contact for Health Canada.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections, inquiries, and compliance activities with corporate Quality & Compliance department.
  • Partner internally on submissions, labeling, post-market surveillance, and field actions.
  • Ensure Canadian field activity aligns with regulatory and quality system requirements.
  • Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as liaison between Sales, Clinical Applications, Service, Marketing, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
  • Provide leadership input on account readiness, technical risk, and customer satisfaction.
  • Represent company at industry meetings and trade associations in Canada.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, CRM documentation, and reporting discipline.

People Leadership, Development & Daily Operations

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop team members, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage day-to-day team operations including prioritization, scheduling, territory coverage, project assignments, and special initiatives.
  • Ensure team members are fully trained and confident in all the products and tools.
  • Reinforces consultative selling principles in daily field work through tracking and monitoring during in-person field travel with team.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales staff including regular business reviews.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote products and services.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required, preferably in Medical Laboratory Science, Life Sciences or Business preferred.
  • MLT (CSMLS) strongly preferred.
  • 7 to 10 years experience in IVD, hemostasis or laboratory diagnostics required.
  • 3-5 years experience managing sales and/or clinical field teams required.
  • Current driver’s license required. Ability to conduct on-site customer demonstrations and visits within assigned Canadian Geography.
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of the time, including overnight travel. Ability to travel internationally required.
  • Must reside within one hour of the Canada corporate office in Ontario and will be required to work on-site at that location a minimum of 3 days per week. The remaining time may include customer travel, field engagement or remote work
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Covid

Pay: $125,000.00-$145,000.00 per year
