Overview
Due to continued above average growth we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our winning team. Located in Canada around a major market area, our BDM will focus on our successful Marine and Defense market. The BDM will grow sales of existing customers, and develop systematic new initiatives to establish new customers. We have created comprehensive marketing support tools such as target market presentations, video clips, Google ads, case studies, newsletters and online landing pages

Responsibilities

  • Account Management: Closely manage key customer accounts by conducting regular onsite meetings with their purchasing and engineering teams. These meetings serve as a platform to advance complex design projects collaboratively.

Project Management: Assume the role of a project manager in bridging communication between the customer and our engineering teams. Ensure that projects progress smoothly, deadlines are met, and customer requirements are fulfilled.

Relationship Expansion: Continuously identify and cultivate new contacts within customer organizations. Strive to enhance service delivery and proactively engage with various customer teams to explore opportunities for expanding our business.

Problem Solving: Address customer challenges and pain points by actively participating in discussions to find innovative solutions. Be attentive to customer needs and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

New Business Development: Dedicate approximately 20% of your time to identifying new potential customers and initiating projects with them. Seek opportunities to diversify our customer base and contribute to the company's growth.

Marketing: Engage in our company's digital marketing programs, actively attend trade shows, participate as exhibitors in relevant events, maintain an active LinkedIn presence, and employ targeted marketing strategies to connect with customers.

These functions collectively form the core responsibilities of a Key Account Manager, focusing on nurturing existing relationships, problem-solving, and driving business expansion within the designated markets.

Tasks:

· Schedule and conduct regular onsite meetings with key customers' purchasing teams.

· Facilitate meetings between our engineering teams and the customer's engineering teams.

· Continuously update customer project timelines and ensure deadlines are met.

· Serve as a central point of contact between the customer and our engineering teams, ensuring effective communication.

· Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and take proactive steps to keep projects on track.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any technical or project-related issues promptly.

· Identify new contacts within customer organizations by networking and conducting research.

· Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers within the customer's company.

· Seek opportunities to expand our service offerings within existing customer accounts.

· Proactively address any challenges or issues raised by the customer.

· Collaborate with internal teams to find creative and effective solutions to customer problems.

· Regularly seek feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement.

· Research potential new customers in markets Industrial, Medical, Marine, and Defense markets.

· Initiate contact with potential customers and assess their needs.

· Present our capabilities and offerings to potential customers to generate interest.

· Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure alignment with digital marketing campaigns and strategies.

· Attend and actively participate in industry-related trade shows to represent the company and build brand presence.

· Leverage LinkedIn as a platform to connect with key customer contacts, share industry insights, and promote our services.

Experience

● Business Degree with technical background (we will provide extensive training)

● 1-5 years proven sales experience in the field of technologically sophisticated products, ideally in the cable industry or connector systems

● Open minded entrepreneur and team player

● Willingness to travel, self-motivated and flexible

● Excellent negotiation skills

● Target direction and success-oriented working methods

● Good IT-knowledge (Gmail Suite, MS Office, Salesforce or other CRM )
