About Us
Rahal is a specialized hair restoration clinic providing advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments in a patient-centered, high-precision environment. We are committed to the highest standards of safety, sterility, and clinical excellence. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to support our surgical team and ensure impeccable instrument reprocessing and infection control, as well as assist in surgery as a Microscope Technician as needed.
Position Summary:
Working under the direction of the OR Supervisor, the Medical Device Technician is responsible for instrument care, sterilization and reprocessing of surgical equipment.
The Medical Device Reprocessing Technician is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical devices used in hair transplant procedures. This role is critical to maintaining patient safety, regulatory compliance, and smooth clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, decontaminate, disinfect, and sterilize reusable surgical instruments and medical devices.
- Operate and monitor steam sterilizers according to manufacturer IFUs and clinic protocols.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and integrity; identify and report damaged or malfunctioning items.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners).
- Maintain accurate sterilization logs, load records, instrument traceability and quality control documentation.
- Maintain sterilization supplies and sterile storage areas.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of sterile supplies.
- Support surgical staff by ensuring instruments are properly prepared and available for surgical procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized and compliant reprocessing area.
- Follow infection prevention and control policies and applicable Ontario requirements.
- Participate in audits, training, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Previous MDRT, surgical reprocessing, dental sterilization, or related healthcare experience preferred.
- MDRT certification/training required .
- Previous experience in sterile processing, ambulatory surgery center, or surgical clinic strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with surgical instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control practices.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and work with precision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift instrument trays as needed.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
- Commitment to patient safety and infection prevention.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Daytime hours; no overnight shifts. 24–30 hours per week.
- Fast-paced clinical environment with a collaborative surgical team.
