Full job description

Heritage Cutter is a privately held US manufacturer of precision cutting tools. We go to the market under brands that machinists have trusted for generations. Weldon. Data Flute. Brubaker. Decatur Diamond. Brands with a well-established reputation built over decades in the precision cutting tool industry.

The ideal Territory Sales Manager will have a strong technical background, a deep understanding of machining, and the ability to translate this knowledge into real solutions for customers. This role encompasses field technical support for end-user customers and distribution partners, with a strong focus on driving sales performance across the GTA and Ontario territory.

The Territory Sales Managers are factory trained across all four product lines with in-depth reviews of application information and hands-on demonstrations. In the field, support is provided by a team of seasoned engineers and product managers, along with a network of territory and regional sales managers across Canada and the US who work closely together.

This position is based out of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and offers a competitive base salary paid in USD with a commission structure, benefits, RRSPs and vehicle allowance.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships across the GTA and Ontario with the focus on increasing sales and profit margins
  • Develop and implement sales plans and strategies for the territory; set sales goals including new business targets and objectives, and regularly report on progress
  • Provide field technical support, troubleshoot application challenges and recommend solutions
  • Coordinate with product managers and internal resources to support customer accounts; where accounts are supported by distributors, work closely with the distributor to coordinate products and solutions
  • Identify and communicate new business opportunities to product managers for review
  • Maintain accurate and current CRM records across all assigned accounts
  • Track and review lost opportunities to provide feedback to manage pricing, product, and service and sales strategy
  • Effectively communicate market trends and product competitiveness to management
  • Submit monthly territory reports to provide target account updates, quotation feedback, and distributor updates and training
  • Provide the regional sales manager with status updates and forecast feedback for major accounts

What You Bring:

  • Strong technical ability to understand machining applications and provide recommended solutions for milling and tapping applications
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and grow new business opportunities
  • Ability to develop a clear value proposition and build long-term customer relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing business correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans and take ownership of territory performance
  • Self-directed and highly motivated with the ability to manage priorities and workload
  • Proficiency with CRM, project management tools, and standard business software
  • Willingness to travel

Experience and Education:

  • 2+ years of hands-on machining experience on both manual and CNC equipment required
  • 2+ years of technical or field sales experience preferred
  • Engineering degree or machining trade school certificate preferred
