To support this growth, we are looking to add to our talented team of Production Technicians at our Mulgrave(Melbourne) site.

About the Role


As a Production Technician, you will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment assembling and testing precision micro-optical and electromechanical systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assembling complex micro-optical and electromechanical components following detailed work instructions.
  • Operating custom automation equipment for precision assembly processes.
  • Troubleshooting sub-assemblies and reporting quality issues.
  • Collaborating with Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams for prototype builds.
  • Contributing to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You
We are looking for detail-oriented professionals with a passion for precision manufacturing.


Essential/Highly Recommended Qualifications & Skills

Formal Education (Desirable but not Essential):
  • High School Certificate with strong results in science or technology subjects.
  • A technical certification in one of the following fields:
o Electronics
o Mechanical Engineering Technology
o Mechatronics
o Optical Technology/Photonics
o Precision Manufacturing

Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in precision assembly techniques.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and follow complex work instructions and technical drawings.
  • Experience with clean room operations (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting.

Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
