Kinitics Automation develops advanced SMA actuator systems for industrial environments where reliability, control precision, and durability matter. We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to help design the electrical and control systems that make these products perform in the field.

This is a hands-on role with real product ownership. You’ll work on systems that need to function reliably in challenging environments while supporting customers who care about uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.

Why this role mattersOur actuator performance depends on thoughtful electrical and controls design. You’ll contribute directly to how our products behave in real-world industrial use, from control logic to communications and safety requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Design, test, and improve electrical and control systems for SMA actuators.
  • Work with 24VDC and 120VAC power systems as well as analog and digital communications, including 4–20 mA and Modbus.
  • Help develop control approaches for precise actuator performance, including zero-deadband proportional control.
  • Support designs that meet industrial safety and certification requirements, including hazardous environments.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience or solid grounding in control systems, PCB design, industrial power systems, or embedded electrical work.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working close to hardware.
  • Motivation to learn quickly in a novel technical domain.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Modbus, industrial communications, or hazardous-area requirements.
  • Background in product development for industrial or field-deployed systems.

Why Kinitics

  • Extended health, dental, vision, and long-term disability coverage.
  • Employee Stock Option Plan.
  • Professional development funding.
  • A collaborative engineering team working on uncommon and meaningful technical challenges.

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
