Job Title: Lean & TPM Expert Consultant (Full-Time)

Location: Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid / Client Sites)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Travel: Up to 75% within Ontario and North America, as required

Pay Range: CAD $140,000 – $160,000 per year

Bonus: Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus

Position Summary

As a Lean & TPM Expert Consultant, you will lead client engagements focused on Lean transformation, TPM implementation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. You will work directly with executive leadership, plant management, and frontline teams to identify opportunities, develop improvement roadmaps, facilitate workshops, and deliver measurable operational and financial results.

This is a client-facing consulting role requiring strong technical expertise, exceptional facilitation skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities

Lean Transformation

  • Lead Lean transformation initiatives across manufacturing and operational environments.
  • Conduct operational assessments, value stream mapping, and maturity assessments.
  • Develop Lean roadmaps aligned with client business objectives.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events and Rapid Improvement Workshops.
  • Implement Lean Management Systems and Daily Management practices.
  • Coach leadership teams on Lean principles and behaviours.

TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

  • Lead TPM assessments and implementation programs.
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Develop Autonomous Maintenance and Planned Maintenance programs.
  • Implement equipment reliability and asset management strategies.
  • Support clients in reducing downtime and improving production reliability.
  • Coach operators and maintenance teams on TPM pillars and best practices.

Operational Excellence

  • Analyze operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Improve productivity, quality, cost, delivery, and safety performance.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and performance management systems.
  • Support change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Drive sustainable improvements through coaching and capability building.

Client Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with client leadership and project teams.
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Prepare professional reports, presentations, and implementation plans.
  • Support business development activities by identifying new opportunities within client organizations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience leading Lean Manufacturing and TPM initiatives.
  • 5+ years of consulting or client-facing experience preferred.
  • Proven experience implementing Lean transformations in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Experience improving OEE, reliability, and maintenance performance.
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen events and cross-functional workshops.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel to client locations across Ontario and occasionally throughout North America.

Preferred

  • Experience Managing or Supervising teams

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified TPM Practitioner
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) (an asset)
  • APICS / ASCM certification (an asset)
