Overview

Join our dynamic dental practice as a Dental Administrator in NW Calgary, where your organizational skills and passion for patient care will help create a seamless and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will oversee daily administrative operations, coordinate patient scheduling, manage billing and insurance processes, and support the clinical team to ensure exceptional service delivery. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to the smooth functioning of our practice, fostering positive patient experiences and efficient office management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage appointment scheduling using Dentrix dental practice management software, ensuring optimal patient flow and timely follow-ups
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures with professionalism and warmth, verifying insurance details and updating electronic medical records accurately
  • Coordinate billing, coding, and insurance claims processing while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Supervise administrative staff, providing guidance on office procedures, human resources policies, and customer service standards
  • Maintain accurate records of patient information, treatment plans, and financial transactions within electronic medical records systems
  • Support clinical staff by managing supply inventories, equipment maintenance schedules, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols
  • Assist with budgeting tasks, including expense tracking and financial reporting to support the practice’s fiscal health

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a dental or medical office environment with familiarity using Dentrix or similar practice management software
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of human resources practices related to staff scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Experience with billing, coding, insurance claims processing, and budgeting within a healthcare context
  • Hospital or acute care experience is a plus, especially if combined with nursing or healthcare administration background
