Our platforms support mission-critical, high-availability workloads, leveraging Microsoft Azure and modern cloud technologies. We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) who is passionate about reliability, performance, automation, and operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the administration, optimization, security, availability, and continuous improvement of Microsoft SQL Server environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production. The successful candidate will partner with Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Architecture, Security, and Product teams to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable database services while supporting ongoing cloud modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments.

· Monitor database health, performance, availability, storage utilization, and capacity planning.

· Perform SQL performance tuning, query optimization, index optimization, and execution plan analysis.

· Design, implement, test, and maintain backup, restore, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

· Administer Always On Availability Groups, replication, failover, and high-availability configurations.

· Manage database security, user access, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls.

· Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.

· Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance with minimal downtime.

· Support Microsoft Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance environments.

· Develop and maintain automation using T-SQL, PowerShell, SQL Agent jobs, and maintenance plans.

· Collaborate with development teams on database schema design, deployments, and release activities.

· Support Azure DevOps CI/CD database deployment processes.

· Monitor database growth and recommend performance and infrastructure improvements.

· Maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.

· Ensure compliance with SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and internal security policies.

· Participate in production support and on-call rotation for critical incidents.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum 5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience.

· Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2017, 2019 and/or 2022.

· Experience administering Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.

· Strong knowledge of performance tuning, execution plans, indexing strategies, SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and troubleshooting.

· Experience with SQL Server backup, recovery, replication, Always On Availability Groups, and disaster recovery.

· Strong T-SQL development and scripting skills.

· Experience with PowerShell or similar automation tools.

· Experience supporting production environments with high availability and mission-critical workloads.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud services.

· Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, or modern data platforms.

· Experience supporting SaaS, travel, hospitality, or enterprise platforms.

· Experience with database monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, SQL Monitor, Redgate, or equivalent.

· Microsoft SQL Server and/or Microsoft Azure certifications are considered an asset.
