About Shoulder Hub

Shoulder Hub is a new specialty orthopaedic and musculoskeletal clinic focused on providing coordinated assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for patients with shoulder, fracture, and other musculoskeletal conditions.

We are looking for a motivated Physician Assistant (PA) who is interested in orthopaedics and wants to become an integral part of a growing clinical and surgical practice.

The Role

The PA will work closely with an orthopaedic surgeon in both outpatient and hospital-based settings. The position will include a combination of specialty clinic care, fracture care, perioperative care, and surgical exposure.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assessing new and follow-up orthopaedic patients under physician supervision
  • Obtaining histories and performing physical examinations
  • Reviewing imaging and investigations
  • Participating in fracture clinic and postoperative follow-up
  • Implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
  • Patient education and counselling
  • Clinical documentation and coordination of care
  • Coordinating physiotherapy, rehabilitation, imaging, and other investigations
  • Assisting with appropriate office-based procedures within the PA's scope, training, and applicable medical directives
  • Supporting hospital-based orthopaedic patient care
  • Assisting in the operating room where appropriately credentialed
  • Identifying complex or urgent cases requiring direct surgeon assessment

What We Are Looking For

  • Graduate of a recognized Physician Assistant education program
  • Eligible for or holding Canadian PA certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Interest in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal medicine, and surgical care
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a supervising physician
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a busy clinical environment
  • Previous orthopaedic, surgical, emergency, fracture clinic, or hospital experience is an asset
