Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in respiratory therapy, with experience in various clinical settings including hospital medicine, critical care, and pediatrics. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care, performing assessments, and administering respiratory treatments to patients of all ages.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments including ventilator management, medication administration, and airway management.
  • Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to therapy to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings to provide comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment options.
  • Participate in emergency medicine protocols as needed, including critical care interventions in Level I and Level II trauma centers.
  • Stay updated on advancements in pulmonary medicine, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy.

Experience

  • Proven experience in hospital settings with a focus on critical care, PICU, or ICU environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic life support (BLS) techniques and advanced airway management skills.
  • Knowledge of pulmonology principles and the ability to assess patients across various age groups including geriatrics and pediatrics.
  • Experience with ventilators and other respiratory equipment is essential.
