About the Role

Our dermatology practice in NW Calgary varsity area is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with existing dermatology experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinic environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care, and is comfortable assisting with a variety of dermatologic procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greet and support patients throughout their visit, from intake to follow-up care.
  • Conduct patient interviews, collect vital signs, and maintain accurate health records.
  • Use electronic health record systems to chart visits (EMR knowledge is a strong advantage).
  • Prepare rooms, instruments, and sterile trays for medical and surgical procedures.
  • Provide chairside assistance during dermatologic exams, biopsies, excisions, and other treatments.
  • Perform dressing changes, wound care, and administer medications as directed.
  • Draw blood, collect specimens, and coordinate biopsy/culture submissions with labs.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, skincare regimens, and post-procedure care.
  • Manage incoming calls from patients and pharmacies, ensuring timely documentation and follow-up.
  • Monitor inventory of clinical supplies and medications, replenishing as needed.
  • Uphold infection control standards by cleaning and resetting rooms throughout the day.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and team members to support individualized patient care.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current LPN license with prior dermatology clinic experience.
  • Strong knowledge of dermatology-specific procedures, medications, and terminology.
  • Compassionate and adaptable when working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Team player with a patient-first mindset.
  • Previous pediatric experience is considered an asset.
