Full job description

A busy, well-established cardiology practice is seeking an experienced and professional full-time Clinical Assistant in Brampton. The candidate must be willing and motivated to provide exceptional patient care both clinically & by creating an outstanding patient service experience for each and every patient visit. The candidate will be working with physicians and patients directly in a clinical setting.

Hours: 8AM - 4PM, Monday- Friday

The candidate will be responsible for but not limited to;

  • Work in a team-setting and support staff and physicians
  • Greeting, registering and triaging patients into exam rooms
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, and preparing exam rooms before each patient.
  • Taking vitals, weight, height, and performing ECGs
  • Entering, updating medications.
  • Preparing and updating virtual charts.
  • Scanning incoming documents into charts using EMR; sending and tracking outgoing referrals
  • Handling phone calls (150+ calls per day) and incoming faxes

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a deep understanding of medications, terminology and interactions
  • Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Records systems
  • Team player with strong organizational skills in addition to time management
  • Excellent work attendance, punctuality and reliability
  • Fluent in English (the ability to speak other languages is beneficial)

Knowledge of medications and performing ECGs preferred.

  • Completed a RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) diploma or equivalent, and have at least 3 year’s recent and related experience in a medical/specialist's office (i.e. in a hospital, clinic setting) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
