Westbrook Medical Clinic is looking to fill an important position for their busy family practice and walk in medical clinic. We focus on high-quality, patient centred health care. The successful applicant will be a warm, efficient and organized person who has previous experience in a multi-doctor medical office and a demonstrated proficiency working in an EMR system.

Westbrook Medical Clinic is a well-established clinic with a close knit team! The team consists of 3 family doctors, 1 psychiatrist, 4 medical office assistants and the clinic director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a part of a multi-disciplinary team providing professional, organized, courteous and efficient service to the patients.
  • Greeting, processing and assisting patients.
  • Updating and verifying correct patient information in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Managing patient appointments using the EMR.
  • Answering phones and contacting patients to answer routine questions, verifying appointment times or directing them to the appropriate program or staff member and document all patient interactions in EMR.
  • Triaging calls, and relay messages in a timely manner.
  • Process billing and patient payments and closing out of daily cash.
  • Scanning, linking and verifying medical information in patient charts.
  • Preparation of exam rooms including adherance to sanitization protocols.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by the Health Information Act (HIA) regarding handling personal and medical information.
  • Routine medical office duties including filing, mail handling, fax, completion of scheduled pickups/deliveries when required.

  • 1+ years of Medical office related experience
  • Experience using EMR systems
