Job description:

Spectramedx is looking for talented individuals to join our Waterloo team to fill the role of Biomedical Engineering Technologist (Junior) for a full-time position, as we grow our team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree/Diploma from an accredited Biomedical Engineering technology program.
  • Solid foundation and understanding of electronics, pneumatics and medical instrumentation.
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written
  • 1 year experience working as a biomedical engineering technologist

Required Skills

  • Comprehensive understand of circuit theory with the ability of troubleshooting defective circuit boards
  • Solid understanding of medical instrumentation vital sign acquisition (i.e ECG, SpO2, NIBP, IBP, Temp)
  • Precise, accurate and efficient repair skills (i.e. soldering, disassembling & reassembly equipment, etc.)
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and in a timely manner
  • Previous experience working as Biomedical Technologist is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Incoming inspection and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Performance of preventative maintenance, repair and calibration services
  • Thorough documentation of day to day work within CMMS software
  • Inventory checks and management
  • Communication with customers regarding service updates
  • Communication with team members regarding implementation of service strategies

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)

Experience:

  • Biomedical Engineering Technology: 1 year (required)

Pay: $27.00-$40.00 per hour
