Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is looking for someone like you for the role of Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) I. From procurement and processing to reporting results, you can perform lab processes and procedures safely, efficiently, and effectively, while ensuring all lab data is correctly and accurately recorded and communicated. Description:

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent acute care phlebotomy experience within the last 1 year. Proficient in the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience with Connect Care. TDG and WHMIS certificate. Ability to work rapidly with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
