Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a busy medical office environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, of good character, proficiency with office software, and experience in medical office settings.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using platforms such as CHR with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance information and collecting payments when applicable.
- Prepare and organize patient charts, documentation, and other administrative files.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely appointment scheduling and follow-up care. Multi-tasking skills, time-management, initiator of good deeds for the team and commitment to the job is very much appreciated.
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing correspondence.
- Support billing processes and insurance claims submissions as needed.
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as CHR.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Office experience including administrative support tasks is required.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to deliver the job with integrity and unyielding reliability and work ethics.
