Full job description

Seeking a medical office assistant to join a busy dermatology practice, in a shared office space with a plastic surgeon and medical aesthetics practice.

Position: Medical office assistant

Job type: Full time position, Monday-Friday, 8:45-4:45 (closed all statutory holidays)

Wage: $20-24/hour starting, to be determined based on experience, with opportunity for growth

Key traits and abilities for this position:

· Excellent time management and prioritization skills

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

· Ability to support team members and work in a collegial, professional environment

· Superior organizational, filing, & scheduling abilities

· Can work independently with minimal direct supervision

· Positive attitude

· Willingness to learn new skills

· Attention to detail

Qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

· Computer proficiency

· Experience with Accuro EMR is an asset but not required

Responsibilities include:

· Maintaining patient confidentiality

· Scheduling appointments, answering phone lines, rooming patients

· Contacting patients to deliver messages/instructions from physicians

· Communicating with pharmacies, other physician offices and healthcare facilities, and pharmaceutical companies

· File documents, process referrals and manage waitlist in EMR

· Perform duties associated with UV phototherapy booth

· Ensure exam rooms are stocked

· Taking payment from patients

· Administrative duties include: data entry, faxing, scanning

· Help cover the duties of other clinic MOAs during their absences if required
