About the Job

This is a full-time on-site role located in Hamilton, ON, for a Compounding Assistant. The Compounding Assistant supports the preparation of non-sterile compounded medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and/or registered pharmacy technician. This role focuses on accurate ingredient handling, workspace preparation, documentation, and adherence to quality and safety standards in accordance with NAPRA guidelines and pharmacy policies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare non-sterile compounds (e.g. creams, ointments, capsules, suspensions) following master formulations and SOPs
  • Accurately weigh, measure, mix, and stage pharmaceutical ingredients
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant compounding environment
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and expiry checks of compounding ingredients
  • Clean and maintain compounding equipment according to protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists and team members regarding compounding needs and timelines.

Education

  • High school diploma

Experience

  • Pharmacy experience is an asset
  • Previous experience in non-sterile compounding is an asset
  • Proficiency in Kroll is an asset

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to follow written formulations, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Basic math and measurement skills

We look closely at our patients’ medical histories and review practitioner-prescribed lab test results if necessary, and our pharmacy works in conjunction with licensed specialists, general practitioners, physiatrists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, naturopaths, ophthalmologists, optometrists, podiatrists, chiropodists, chiropractors, osteopaths and RMTs in order to ensure the treatments are as effective as possible.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
