Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of dental terminology, and prior experience in dental or medical office environments.

This role offers an engaging opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while managing administrative responsibilities efficiently. The successful applicant will be instrumental in creating a welcoming atmosphere, coordinating patient appointments, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately.
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records using practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic.
  • Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures to facilitate smooth financial transactions.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and assist dental staff with patient care activities as needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and document management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sterilization protocols and confidentiality standards.
  • Support front desk operations by managing correspondence, filing, and other clerical duties to optimize office efficiency.

Experience

  • Prior experience of at least 2 years working in a dental office environment is necessary.
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Tracker is essential; familiarity with Dexis is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrated experience handling electronic medical records (EMRs) efficiently and accurately.
  • Previous office experience in a medical or healthcare setting is advantageous for understanding administrative workflows.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly with patients, staff, and insurance providers while maintaining professionalism at all times.
