Position: Vision Care Technician
Location: Calgary, AB

Background:

Euclid Telehealth is currently looking for a Vision Care Technician with a passion for customer service in healthcare, an entrepreneurial aptitude, and an enjoyment of technology, to provide patients with a convenient, caring, and quality eye disease screening experience.

We believe every Canadian should have access to the specialized medical expertise that can preserve their vision for as long as possible. At Euclid Telehealth, we focus on eye disease screening for the leading causes of vision loss and blindness, such as: glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and others. Our mission is to bring early detection and treatment of vision loss to all Canadians, using leading technology. In collaboration with the Galen Eye Centre, Euclid Telehealth provides hands-on technical training and support needed to set you up for success.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing superior patient care and customer service, including ensuring seamless booking, required reminders and providing patient results
  • Taking diagnostic measurements of patients’ eyes, including using a fundus camera, tonometer (measuring intra-ocular pressure or IOP), optical coherence tomography (OCT) scanner, and visual field goggles for peripheral vision
  • Managing your own days to ensure patients are seen in a timely, caring, efficient, and high-quality manner

Your demonstrated skills:

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, balancing empathy, and efficiency to provide excellent patient experience and build strong professional relationships
  • Ability to learn, use critical thinking skills and solve problems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related technology
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job including access to a vehicle to travel to locations across Calgary, Alberta
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job including access to a vehicle to travel to clinics

What your background is:

  • Demonstrated excellent customer/patient service
  • 2+ years of experience, ideally healthcare industry, or other patient care setting
  • Experience in an ophthalmological or optometric setting is valuable but not required
  • College degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field (lab technician, nursing etc.) is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi is considered an asset.
  • Legally able to work in Canada

Compensation:

  • Hourly compensation ranging from $27.00 - $29.00 per hour, depending on experience
  • Mileage reimbursed for travel to remote locations
