Description & Requirements

At EA, we believe games are powerful because they bring together multiple ways people engage: play, watch, create, and connect. And increasingly, the biggest entertainment platforms aren't just places to consume content — they're places where communities build.
Creator-made content is already a proven part of EA's history — from community creation tools in Battlefield to The Gallery in The Sims 4. We believe new creative technologies and tools will expand how players engage with and contribute to our experiences, supported by thoughtful product design, safety systems, and global reach. Our focus is on enabling more players to participate in creative expression by making creation easier, safer, and more rewarding.
We are looking for a Head of Operations who is deeply passionate about the AI space and eager to work directly with a core group of world-class researchers and engineers. If you are excited by the idea of using modern automation tools to optimize how organizations work and want to pioneer the future of operations, this is your moment.
In this role, you will partner closely with the SVP, Head of R&E, to translate technology strategy into clear operational processes. You will manage the team's budget planning, talent strategy, and external partnerships so our engineering teams can focus entirely on innovation.
Location & Model
This is a hybrid role requiring you to be onsite three days a week in Redwood City, Montreal, or Vancouver. You will report directly to the SVP, Head of Research & Engineering.
Responsibilities
Lead the Operating Rhythm: Manage the leadership team's operating cadence, meeting schedules, processes to ensure team alignment.
Drive Operational Excellence: Manage budget planning, talent reviews, resource allocation, and organizational design frameworks for mid-to-large sized groups.
Automate Business Workflows: Identify opportunities to build workflows, leveraging automation tools to streamline how the leadership team works and engages with the wider business.
Manage High-Impact Partnerships: Oversee relationships with external partners, including commercial AI labs, universities, and internal engineering teams.
Unify Organization Communications: Coordinate team-wide internal communications, including town halls, leadership messaging, and cross-functional updates.
Collaborate Across Boundaries: Serve as the main operational point of contact between the R&E team and central departments like Finance, Legal, and Recruiting.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in business operations, program management, or strategic planning within a technology, software, or engineering organization.
Operational Scale: Proven experience managing business operations, budget processes, and talent pipelines for a similar-sized organizational group.
Automation & Tech Fluency: Strong familiarity with modern automation tools, with a demonstrated ability to streamline leadership workflows.
Collaborative Leadership: Successful track record of joining established leadership teams, building trust quickly, and driving strategic alignment through influence.
Strategic Communication: Experience bringing clarity, structure, and focus to complex technology groups.
Preference for those with an engineering background
