Full job description

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training and Certification Advisor is responsible for tracking, managing, deploying and recording training programs and logistical requirements for the Training department.


TASKS AND DUTIES

  • Manage, update, deploy and record various internal and client-based training initiatives (RTW, PIP/PER, XRT, LRP, PIAP)

  • Forecast, plan and execute class forecasting and training

  • Manage, audit and maintain training files, GSked records, archives and class hour reviews

  • Report and address weekly CATSA reports, training requests, refresher training requirements

  • Enter all training forms from both CATSA and GardaWorld into the database

  • Maintain certification requirements for screening officers (16 hours, RAIC, medical)

  • Monitor and maintain communication devices

  • Must be available to work variable shifts (includes weekends, afternoons and evenings)

  • Other duties as required


EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience in training and supervising unionized employees is considered an asset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook)

  • Excellent written, verbal and interdepartmental communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment

  • Knowledge of CATSA based systems (LMS, SITT, PEMS) is an asset

  • Knowledge of legislation of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority Act, Official Languages Act, and Canada Labour Code considered an asset
