Lynde Dermatology & Esthetics is a full-service, multidisciplinary dermatology clinic under the care of our Chief Medical Director, Dr. Charles W. Lynde. Our team of healthcare professionals includes dermatologists, family physicians, nurses, medical estheticians and a plastic surgeon. Lynde Dermatology & Esthetics prides itself on providing scientific, evidence-based cosmetic solutions for its patients. Our esthetics team works collaboratively with our team of physicians to deliver the best care possible to our patients.

Medical-Cosmetic Nurse Injector

As a member of the Cosmetic/Esthetics team, the Medical-Cosmetic Nurse Injector works cooperatively with all team members to support the clinic and its operations, including physicians and patients. The Medical-Cosmetic Nurse Injector is responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect cosmetic and esthetic care including general skin health and associated product education. The Medical-Cosmetic Nurse Injector is responsible for the safe injection of neurotoxins (ie. Botox®), dermal fillers, and other cosmetic injectables. The Medical-Cosmetic Nurse Injector will liaison with the Esthetics Department and pharmaceutical companies and their representatives regarding safe injectable training, product education, healthy skin rejuvenation and general patient education. The Cosmetic Nurse Injector will report directly to the Operations Manager and/or Senior Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN), and/or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), and is in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience in a cosmetic or clinical setting
  • Previous experience injecting neuromodulators and dermal fillers is REQUIRED
  • Previous experience in cosmetic/esthetic procedures is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of medical esthetics such as, microdermabrasion, laser hair reduction, micro needling with radiofrequency, Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and skin rejuvenation is considered an asset
  • Experience with medical procedures
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal and patient education skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with medical documentation, abbreviations, reports and patient education
  • Ability to speak to patients fluently in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is highly preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms considered an asset
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong time management capabilities
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for patient focused, evidence-based medical cosmetics
  • High level of professionalism and competence in a clinical setting
  • High level of proficiency in customer service
  • A willingness to learn new techniques and develop procedural skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team as well as independently

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Participate in training of all products/services offered
  • Participation in training events (online and in-person), as well as practical learning initiatives
  • Patient education on relevant side effects, adverse events and or other risks involved
  • Offer insight and education regarding skin care regimens with an emphasis on products sold at Lynde Dermatology
  • Administration and reception duties will be required
  • Maintain complete product and treatment knowledge of all cosmetic services and injectables
  • Keep apprised of new literature and research and development pipeline in the field of medical cosmetics
  • Responsible for administering neurotoxins (ie. Botox ®), dermal fillers, and other cosmetic injector treatments
  • Follow all clinical procedure guidelines working under the direction of the on-site attending physician
  • Available to work Monday through Friday beginning at 8:00am (will accept full or part time hours)

Compensation:

Remuneration will be assessed and offered based on education level, clinical experience, and applicable skillsets

  • Hourly base pay and vacation pay following a bi-weekly pay schedule
  • Paid training and development with dermatology and industry partners, including practical learning alongside our physicians
