Full job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for all administrative aspect of running a family physicians office. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

  • Greet patients and verify patient information upon arrival to the office.
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments and manage patient inquires in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain electronic medical records accurately using Accuro EMR.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up visits as necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of inventory through regular stocking of exam rooms.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy environment by cleaning exam rooms and high touch surfaces as well as cleaning of medial instruments.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing of the office while being prepared for the day's operations in advance.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to the professional standards of the office by always following office policies and procedures and well as CPSO/OMA requirements.
  • Ability to work scheduled after hours FHO clinic shifts. One 5pm-8pm shift every 3 weeks along with 3 Saturday 8am-2pm shifts per year.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in administrative tasks - minimum 1 year experience in the medical field
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent attention to fine detail when processing information while maintaing a high level of organization.
  • Understanding of medical billing and error codes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment while maintaining effective organization systems to ensure timely patient flow
  • Ability to work independently while being open to seek support when required
  • EMR training - Accuro experience a strong asset
  • Operate with the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics, and discretion

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
