Experienced Medical Office Administrator (Urology)

About the Practice:

We are a new specialist urology practice is seeking an experienced Medical Office Administrator to become the cornerstone of the office. The practice is located near Royal Victoria Hospital, and will provide care to a mix of surgical patients. This is a solo physician practice, however you will be working closely with other office administrators and urologists.

Position Overview:

This is an opportunity to help create a patient-centred practice from the beginning and shape an efficient, welcoming environment for patients. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable managing the day-to-day operations of a busy specialist office.

We value a candidate with experience in similar roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to ensure a welcoming and efficient clinic environment
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and faxes; direct messages appropriately
  • Manage surgical bookings
  • Input and update patient data in EMR
  • File and manage patient documents securely and accurately
  • General office duties including rooming patients, faxing, scanning, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, confidentiality policies, and regulatory standards
  • Willing to take on new tasks and be open to learning new things.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical clinic, additional experience highly valued
  • Strong knowledge and experience with EMR systems, including Accuro
  • Experience with surgical bookings is also a plus
  • Proficient computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanour
  • Ability to multitask, manage priorities, and work independently

Job Summary:

  • Full time, 40 hour work week, administrative position
  • Paid vacation and sick leave

Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
