Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations within the medical or dental office, providing exceptional patient service, and supporting clinical staff. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic medical records, office administration, and a strong understanding of medical and dental terminology. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and excellent communication skills are highly valued.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner at the front desk
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records using systems such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Assist with check-in and check-out processes, including collecting insurance information and payments
  • Prepare patient charts and documentation for clinical staff
  • Maintain organized filing systems for patient records and office supplies
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and follow-up reminders
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, faxing, scanning, and correspondence
  • Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare documentation standards
  • Strong office experience including front desk operations, administrative support, and multi-line phone handling
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Previous experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) is highly desirable
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with a customer service-oriented attitude

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
