Company Description:

ProMed HR Solutions Ltd is a Canadian company specializing in addressing locum requirements in the Hospital Settings. Our goal is to reduce patient wait times by providing qualified professionals. Position Title:

Medical Laboratory Technologist (Pathology/Histology Laboratory) - Onsite

Responsibilities:

  • Examine blood cells, body fluids, and tissue samples to identify normal and abnormal physiological or pathological conditions.
  • Prepare, process, and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination using routine and specialized histology techniques.
  • Verify, validate, document, and accurately report laboratory test results in accordance with established protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory procedures and standard operating protocols for specimen analysis and diagnostic testing.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities, evaluate testing performance, and ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety procedures, infection prevention protocols, and quality
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Previous experience in a histology laboratory is preferred.

Requirements:

  • A two- or three-year college program in medical laboratory technology.
  • Certified by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) in good standing.
  • Previous experience working in a Pathology/Histology laboratory.
  • Strong Communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in different work settings with diverse communities and populations.

Base Rate: $60 per hour

Additional Compensation:

  • Travel Pay
  • Travel and accommodation provided
  • Reimbursement for out-of-province licensing fees
  • Flexible start date with a minimum notice period of two to three weeks
