Keywest Projects Ltd. is an employee-owned EPCM firm based in Calgary, Alberta. We deliver comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) solutions to the energy industry, specializing in oil & gas, power generation, and infrastructure projects. Since 2009, we've been delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions in energy development projects ranging from project management and engineering design to construction support and regulatory compliance—ensuring safe, efficient project execution from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities

Process detailed design, including but not limited to:

  • Modeling of client processes in Promax, Hysys, Symmetry, Pipeflo, spreadsheets and other software tools available
  • Process evaluation, optimization and debottlenecking studies
  • BFD, PFD and P&ID Generation
  • Equipment sizing & selection c/w generation of process portion of data sheet
  • Control system definition c/w data sheets
  • Flare system evaluations and sizing
  • Contribute to development of process design tools, spreadsheets and procedures to streamline design efforts and assist Senior staff
  • Research new technology, prepare and present findings

· Process input into project deliverables such as DBM; engineered drawing development, mechanical and instrument datasheets, LDT’s, Q/C documents, technical evaluation and recommendation for award

· Assist with environmental and regulatory applications and submissions and stay informed of the latest directives and requirements.

· Dispersion modeling and EPZ zone modeling utilizing the available regulatory models and spread sheet tools

· Vendor drawing review, squad checks and approval

· Participate in HAZOP (Hazards and Operability Study) and PHAs (Process Hazards Analysis) as required

· Occasional travel to site for information gathering, as-building, P&ID walk downs, startup activities or troubleshooting tasks.

· Work with other disciplines while providing effective process engineering support

· Ensure equipment design conformance with project cost, schedule and specifications, sizing and selection

· Analysis of compression and pumping requirements and implementation in design

· Define project process specifications for equipment selection, quotation and purchase

· Existing equipment evaluation as required; suggest retrofit modifications and upgrades

· Compliance with safety, quality, regulatory and technical standards

· Provide assistance for commissioning and start-up activities

· Provide technical support to project construction management team as required

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, is registered with APEGA, and must possess the following:

  • 0-4 years engineering experience
  • Registered engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) with APEGA
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
  • Proficientcomputer, organizational, and technical skills,
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects at the same time,
  • Capable of working independently
  • Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment,
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization,
  • Excellent problem-solving skills,
  • Industry awareness pertaining to current trends and events,
  • Confident, Enthusiastic and have a Positive Attitude.
