Full job description

About the Role

TriggerTech is seeking a highly skilled Precision Manufacturing Lead to develop, optimize, and expand our precision manufacturing capabilities. This is a highly technical, hands-on role for an individual who has personally developed manufacturing processes from concept through high-volume production and understands every aspect of precision manufacturing.

The successful candidate will possess expert knowledge of subtractive manufacturing, CNC programming, workholding and fixture design, machine selection, quality systems, process optimization, and manufacturing automation. We are seeking an individual who has developed complete manufacturing systems from engineering drawing review and DFM through production validation, quality assurance, high-volume manufacturing, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of precision manufacturing processes for complex, tight-tolerance components.
  • Own the complete manufacturing process from concept through production, including engineering drawing review, DFM, manufacturing planning, machine selection, workholding and fixture design, tooling strategy, CNC programming, process validation, quality planning, production launch, and continuous improvement.
  • Design and optimize workholding and fixture systems that maximize repeatability, reduce setup time, and improve machine utilization.
  • Select, commission, validate, and optimize CNC machine tools, automation equipment, and supporting manufacturing technologies.
  • Develop machining strategies that improve cycle time, increase tool life, reduce variation, and maximize process capability (Cp/Cpk).
  • Lead root cause investigations related to machining, tooling, quality, and manufacturing performance, implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure manufacturability, scalability, and product quality throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, data-driven decision making, and Manufacturing 4.0 technologies.
  • Develop robust manufacturing processes capable of supporting high-volume, high-precision, lights-out production.

Core Technical Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in subtractive manufacturing, including CNC milling, CNC turning, Swiss-type turning, Wire EDM, and sinker EDM, with advanced CNC programming using modern CAM software.
  • Extensive experience in workholding and fixture design for precision, repeatable, high-volume manufacturing.
  • Extensive experience in machine selection, specification, commissioning, optimization, and validation of CNC machine tools and manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ownership of manufacturing process development from engineering drawing review and DFM through production validation, quality assurance, production launch, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong background machining aluminum, stainless steel, tool steels, die-cast alloys, and polymers, with a thorough understanding of machinability, heat treatment, cutting mechanics, and tool wear.
  • Expert knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, DFM, precision metrology, quality systems, statistical process control (SPC), process capability (Cp/Cpk), and structured problem solving.
  • Proven success improving productivity, repeatability, cycle time, quality, manufacturing cost, and unattended (lights-out) machining.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in precision manufacturing within a high-volume production environment.

Education

  • Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in CNC Machining, Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Additional Experience

  • Experience leading Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Programmers, Manufacturing Technologists, or Machinists.
  • Experience implementing robotic automation, palletized machining systems, and lights-out manufacturing cells.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0 technologies, machine connectivity, digital process monitoring, and real-time production analytics.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Pay: $130,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Dental care
