Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre, located in the heart of Niagara, across the street from Brock University, is looking for a Physiatrist to join our medical team.

Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre is a faith based 134 bed facility specializing in rehabilitation, complex and palliative care and seniors’ health. We take pride in providing an environment where our staff can grow professionally and personally.

We promote an interprofessional approach supported by Physiatry consultation as well as consultations available in most fields of medicine.

In addition to access to our highly integrated team of family physicians, physiatrists, nurses and therapists in physical, psychological, occupational and speech/cognitive rehabilitation, you would have:

• Access to inpatient beds and a steady flow of inpatient cases as consultant physiatrist
• Access to outpatient clinic space, EMG time and 20 hours of secretarial support shared with another Physiatrist
• A patient load sufficient to maintain a full clinical practice
• Opportunity for research, teaching or clinical work in an academic setting at Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster

Interested applicants must have earned a MD or equivalent and be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. In addition, candidates must be certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and/or American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Candidates must have current experience treating elderly hospitalized patients with stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury and amputations. Candidates must be eligible for an appointment at Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University.
