Drywall Service Technician

Job Summary

Westrose Interiors is looking for a skilled and motivated Drywall Service Technician to join our growing team. Reporting to the Service Manager, you’ll perform drywall installation and repairs, steel stud framing, acoustic ceiling systems, and general commercial service work.

We’re looking for a dependable professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, install, and repair drywall.
  • Apply tape, mud, and finishing compounds to achieve paint-ready surfaces (taping experience is considered an asset; training is available).
  • Frame steel stud walls and ceilings.
  • Install acoustic ceiling grid and tile systems.
  • Complete basic layouts and interpret project requirements.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, site personnel, and team members.
  • Record completed work, materials used, and labour hours.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the Service Manager.

Qualifications

  • Experience in drywall installation and repairs.
  • Experience with steel stud framing and acoustic ceiling systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications is considered an asset (training available).
  • Taping experience is considered an asset (training available).
  • Comfortable using tablets and digital job management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lift and carry construction materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings, or weekends when required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
