Full job description

Toronto International Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, qualified, and caring teacher with specialization in the Sciences (Chemistry and Biology) to teach classes in the day time. Upcoming course to be taught is Grade 11 & 12 Chemistry (SCH3U and SCH4U, starting September 8th). Future positions include senior Biology courses as well as gr.9 and 10 science. Courses are expected to be taught in-person.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set clear academic goals for students to achieve
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with students and parents about grading, progress, and other issues
  • Implement up-to-date Growing Success into daily lesson and unit planning, as well as in classroom instruction through differentiation, accommodation, and clear indication of learning goals, success criteria, assessment as/for/of learning, and observation/conversation
  • Generate accurate and comprehensive student marks using MarkBook software
  • Endorse the mission and vision of the school
  • Conduct all work activities in a professional manner, including labs and experiments (whether in-person or virtual)
  • Teach courses on TIA’s E-School (Moodle platform), if desired

Experience:

  • Teaching: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
