Full job description
The Opportunity:
The Occupational Health Coordinator/Nurse works closely with Managers, Supervisors and individual employees to promote occupational health, safety and environmental compliance in the plant.Coordinates training, communications, involvement and accountability – supporting accident prevention and compliance programs. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety and HACCP regulations and procedures

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- WCB, STD, and LTD claims management.
- Provide on-site direct health care plans to the employees.
- Treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.
- Participates in the Occupational Health maintenance program through various activities.
- Participate in programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu clinics, first aid and CPR training.
- Teaching and encouraging employees to practice healthy lifestyles.
- Promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
- Referrals to employee assistance providers as necessary.
What You’ll Bring:
- Registered Nurse, licensed practical nurse, or first responder.
- Maintian a safe and clean working environment.
- Educating employees about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
- Experience in WCB, STD and LTD claims management an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with Union and Management.
- Strong computer skills.
- Able to thrive in a Company committed to high standards of safety.
