Job Description

The Manager, Team Security supports the safety and security of players, coaches, basketball operations staff, and team assets. This role reports to the Director of Security and assists with the planning and execution of team security operations, event security, protective services, and threat management.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel with the team and provide security support for players, and staff during games, practices, events, and team travel.
• Coordinate security operations at hotels, airports, training facilities, arenas, and other team-related venues.
• Conduct advance security assessments and develop risk mitigation plans for team travel, events, and player appearances.
• Monitor, assess, and respond to security threats, incidents, and emergency situations affecting team personnel or operations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement, venue security, hotel security, and NBA Security to ensure a safe operating environment.
• Support credentialing, access control, and security protocols for team facilities, practices, and special events.
• Maintain incident reports, security intelligence, and operational documentation while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
• Must be capable of responding quickly to security incidents, navigating crowded venues, and working long hours in fast-paced environments, including domestic and international travel schedules

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in law enforcement, executive protection, military, intelligence, corporate security, or professional sports security.
• Experience providing protective services and managing security operations in high-profile or public-facing environments.
• Strong knowledge of threat assessment, emergency response, travel security, and incident management principles.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with law enforcement, security partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexible hours, travelling with the team & players, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extensive domestic and international travel.
