Full job description

Maple Leaf Construction Ltd. is currently seeking skilled and dependable Pipelayers to join the Sewer & Water Division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing underground pipelines, ensuring they meet project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret construction plans and check grades
  • Set up and operate grade lasers and read grade stakes
  • Use a variety of hand tools and cut pipe of various materials
  • Install and work with sewer and water systems (watermain, sanitary, and storm)
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of pipelaying techniques and best practices
  • Work with pipe and fittings used in sewer and water main construction
  • Collaborate effectively with crew members and follow direction from the foreman
  • Safely locate and expose underground utilities by hand
  • Complete work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in sewer, water, or excavation work
  • Proven ability to install fire hydrants, valves, water services, manholes, catch basins, and piping
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Health & safety training (Confined Space, Trenching & Excavation, First Aid/CPR) is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work weekends as required
  • Ability to work long hours (approximately 12-hour days)
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
