Full job description

We are a growing heavy equipment engineering and industrial manufacturing company located in St. Thomas, Ontario. We have an immediate requirement for a seasoned Mechanical Assembler/Machine Builder. You will be key member of a skilled team to execute the manufacture and assembly of new-to-market rail and mining equipment.

What we need in a candidate:

· Perform all operations related to the production of customized Heavy Mining and Rail equipment

· Read work orders, follow production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed

· Able to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics

· Knowledge and experience in assembly of and troubleshooting of mechanical devices, hydraulic systems and Pneumatic Systems

· Knowledge and experience in assembly of drive train components and layout will be considered an asset

· Knowledge and experience in assembly of electrical components will be considered an asset

· Able to work effectively as a team member and independently

· Able to operate a forklift and Overhead Crane

· Able to work in a fast-paced environment on several assignments simultaneously

Qualifications:

· Prospective candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in assembly with mechanical systems including hydraulic systems

· Prospective candidates must also have a broad range of tools that are applicable to their respective trade

· Prospective candidates must have excellent work habits and a commitment to procedures and accuracy

Wages:

  • Will be determined based on education and experience

Hours:

  • Normal hours are from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the ability to work overtime as required periodically. During the summer months Arva operates a 4 x 10 hour shift work week, Monday through Thursday.
