Position Description

The Manufacturing Engineer supports continuous improvement in manufacturing by managing efficiency, equipment, innovation, and process projects.

Duties

  • Support innovation projects alongside the Production Manager
  • Champion continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing
  • Develop new processes and manage program launches
  • Research new equipment and processes
  • Project manage the rollout of new products in the manufacturing sites
  • Support the maintenance team with troubleshooting equipment failures
  • Conduct time studies throughout operations to validate labour requirements and drive process improvement
  • Develop manufacturing standards for costing purposes and develop other process standards (ex. Pallet standards, packaging standards, nailing standards, gluing standards, etc.)
  • Comply with local regulations
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and 14001 Policies and Procedures

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalency in combination of education and experience
  • 2-5 years’ manufacturing experience in a technical role
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings/documents
  • Ability to train others on existing or new processes
  • Detail-oriented and Conscientious
  • Ability to troubleshoot and innovate in a hands-on environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong ability to Project Manage
  • Positive, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Experience working within a manufacturing ERP system is considered a major asset
