Position Overview

We are seeking a hardworking, passionate ISA Certified Arborist to join our team as a Secondary / Support Climber. In this role, you will work closely with our experienced tree service crews to execute high-quality pruning, tree removal, and rigging operations.

This position offers excellent stability, with a clear and definitive career path for advancement into a Crew Lead role in the future.

Key Responsibilities

● Climbing & Rigging: Perform tree climbing, rigging, and aerial work safely and efficiently according to modern industry standards.

● Ground Support & Operations: Assist with ground operations including dragging brush, operating the brush chipper, and executing technical rigging.

● Equipment Use: Safely operate and perform daily maintenance on chainsaws, handsaws, chippers, and related arborist tools.

● Crew Collaboration: Coordinate with crew leads, ground workers, and crane operators to safely complete complex urban forestry projects.

● Schedule: Standard hours are typically 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some seasonal variation based on workload and weather conditions.

Position Requirements

● Certification: Active ISA Certified Arborist credential.

● Experience: Proven experience in production tree climbing, rigging, and ground safety operations.

● Physical Stamina: Ability to meet the physically demanding constraints of outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions, including the capacity to lift 75+ pounds.

● Licensing: Valid Ontario Class G driver's license with a clean, verifiable driver’s abstract.

● Traits: Reliable, punctual, highly responsible, and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to work site safety.

Preferred Assets

● Valid Ontario DZ or AZ commercial driver's license

● 0-8 Ton Crane Operator Certification

● Post-secondary diploma or degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a related environmental field
