Job Title: Sales Manager & Director of Business Development – Litigation Funding (Personal Injury)

Location: Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid Options Available)

Our mission is to offer financial support to injured individuals and ensure they have access to justice.

To accelerate our expansion, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our growth strategy, build relationships with personal injury law firms, and drive deal flow across Canada.

Job Summary:

As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for expanding our litigation funding portfolio by securing partnerships with top personal injury lawyers, law firms, and legal professionals. You will drive revenue growth, execute strategic initiatives, and enhance our market presence in the Canadian litigation funding industry. The ideal candidate has deep connections in the personal injury legal space and a strong understanding of case valuation, settlement timelines, and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan to increase litigation funding partnerships across Canada.
  • Build and maintain relationships with personal injury lawyers, law firms, legal professionals, and plaintiff advocacy groups.
  • Identify, pursue, and close high-value litigation funding deals with law firms and claimants.
  • Educate law firms on the benefits of non-recourse litigation financing.

Strategic Partnerships & Networking

  • Attend and represent the company at legal conferences, industry events, and networking forums.
  • Develop alliances with legal service providers and medical professionals, to enhance referral channels.
  • Establish and grow relationships with lawyers, paralegals, case managers, and clinicians to drive deal flow.
  • Set and achieve aggressive growth and revenue targets for litigation funding.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to track performance and optimize funding deals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field (MBA or JD preferred).
  • 7+ years of business development experience in litigation finance, personal injury law, insurance, or financial services.
  • Extensive network of personal injury lawyers, law firms, and legal professionals in Canada.
  • Proven ability to structure, negotiate, and close litigation funding deals.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury case valuation, settlement structures, and legal timelines.
  • Experience in non traditional financing, legal lending, or alternative asset-backed lending is an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in personal injury law, legal funding, or insurance claims.
  • Knowledge of Canadian legal and regulatory frameworks for litigation finance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong deal-closing skills.
