Full job description
Our personal injury and commercial litigation law firm is seeking a dedicated and motivated Associate with a minimum of two years of post-call experience in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a dynamic team. Strong communication skills, tenacity, and intellectual curiosity are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies
- Draft pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, proposals, etc.
- Conduct legal research and review and summarize medical records
- Attend case conferences, Examinations for Discovery, and other proceedings as instructed by senior counsel
- Settle files
- Maintain knowledge of and effectively apply the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS)
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of post-call litigation experience.
- Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
