Full job description

Lugaro is a leading diamond jewelry manufacturer and retailer in Western Canada, renowned for its exceptional quality and corporate responsibility. The brand houses one of the largest selections of Rolex watches, as well as fine timepieces from prestigious brands like Cartier, Omega, H. Moser, Tudor, and Jacob & Co.

We are looking for a full-time, dependable and vigilant security guard for our downtown Victoria location to ensure the safety and security of our retail environment.

The hourly wage will be $22-25 hours depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Prevent theft by establishing a strong security presence
  • Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
  • Arrest and/ or detain shoplifters as required
  • Escort trespassers away from client premises
  • Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
  • Complete incident reports for security purposes
  • Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required
  • Quickly respond to security and safety violations, property damage and alarms

The Ideal Candidate

  • A Valid Security License
  • A Valid Advanced Security Training Certificate (Asset)
  • Experience with arrests and detainments (Asset)
  • Retail security experience is highly preferred
  • Customer service experience is required and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have your own black suit and tie
  • Willingness to attend meetings and additional training to improve existing skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Must be willing and comfortable to stand and patrol for the duration of the shift (8-hours average); work flexible hours
  • Confidence interacting verbally with team members, client personnel, members of the public, and emergency services
  • Experience in security would be an asset, but other experience in customer service or volunteering can still help you succeed
  • Basic skills in utilizing technology, including writing reports on a computer
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
