PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER
PART-TIME

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM (F007v2)
LOCATION: TORONTO EAST
Toronto East boundaries:
- West - Victoria Park Avenue
- North - Steeles Avenue
- East - Morningside Avenue
- South - Gardiner Exwy/Kingston Rd

- $21.356 - $23.336 per hour plus $3/hr wage premium for eligible hours worked| Paid 30 minutes travel allowance | $0.40/hour in lieu of benefits (Group Benefits if full-time)

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- You will be part of a team that will be provide supports to a specific group of clients. When out in the community you will work independently in clients' homes. You will establish and maintain your relationships with clients. You will provide personal support services for clients in their homes to assist with activities of daily living. (Including: lifts/transfers, bowel/bladder routines, dressing/undressing, skin care, respiration, meals/drinks, general hygiene).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- A passion for providing exceptional personal support services to male/female clients
- Ability to lift and transfer clients
- Manages time in co-operation with clients to complete tasks
- Ability to accept direction from client's regarding services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and judgment skills
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with others
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 computer skills (Outlook, Word)
WHAT HOURS YOU'LL WORK (totaling 22.5 hours):
- Monday: OFF
- Tuesday: 10:30am-1:30pm
- Wednesday: 10:30am-1:30pm
- Thursday: OFF
- Friday: OFF
- Saturday: 3:30pm-11:30pm
- Sunday: 3pm-11:30pm
MAIN INTERSECTIONS:
- M4J (East York/East Toronto): Danforth Village & Danforth East
- M1G (Scarborough): Kingston Road & Markham Road , Markham Road & Ellesmere Road
- M1P (Scarborough): Kennedy Rd & Eglinton Ave E, Birchmount Rd & Lawrence Ave E
- M5M: Avenue Rd & Lawrence Ave, Avenue RD & Wilson Ave
HOW TO QUALIFY:
- Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time). This also includes a PSW Program from an Adult and Continuing Education School Board.
- 6 Months PSW experience gained in the physical disabilities sector
- Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) membership would be considered an asset
- Proof of First Aid and CPR certificate
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Person)
- Ability to travel between client appointments and willingness to work in the community
