Full job description

The Face Station under CMU College of Makeup Art and Design specializes in professional makeup products. We are seeking a friendly, customer-focused Sales Associate / Makeup Artist to sell makeup products and provide professional makeup application services to customers. Commission will be paid for makeup services performed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
  • Recommend and sell makeup products based on customers’ needs, skin types, and preferences.
  • Explain and demonstrate product features, benefits, and application techniques.
  • Provide professional makeup application services for special events and other occasions.
  • Provide hairstyling services when qualified and required.
  • Maintain proper hygiene and sanitation of makeup tools, testers, and workstations.
  • Process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and restock merchandise.
  • Work toward individual and store sales targets.
  • Stay informed about new products, makeup techniques, and beauty trends.
  • Keep the store and service areas clean and organized.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls professionally, respond to general inquiries, and transfer calls to the appropriate person or department.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail sales or customer service experience is required.
  • Professional makeup application experience is a strong asset.
  • Makeup artistry training or certification is an asset.
  • Hairstyling skills or relevant experience would be an additional asset.
  • Knowledge of professional makeup products and current beauty trends is preferred.
  • Strong sales, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, reliable, professional, and customer-focused.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Commission for makeup services performed.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
