Maintenance Planner – Plant Operations

Canada Fluorspar Inc. | St. Lawrence, NL

Canada Fluorspar Inc. (CFI) is seeking a Maintenance Planner – Plant Operations to join our team in St. Lawrence, Newfoundland and Labrador. Reporting to the Mill Manager and working closely with the Maintenance Superintendent, this role is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability, availability, and operational efficiency.

This position operates on a 5 days on / 2 days off rotation at the CFI site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and manage the maintenance work request backlog and prioritize work with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate parts, resources, and scheduling for maintenance work and planned shutdowns.
  • Monitor equipment performance and adjust maintenance plans to improve reliability and availability.
  • Support the continuous improvement of plant maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Work with suppliers on maintenance support, spare parts, and equipment improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with CFI safety, health, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma/degree or Interprovincial trade certification (mechanical preferred).
  • 5+ years’ experience in maintenance planning or scheduling, ideally in a process plant or industrial environment.
  • Experience with preventative and reliability maintenance programs.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems; SAP or SAGE considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
