Full job description

As a Senior Account Manager, Fleet Maintenance Services, you will sell preventive maintenance and repair service agreements — for tractors, trailers, tank trailers, and liftgates — to private and for-hire commercial fleets. You will primarily be selling to fleet managers, maintenance/shop managers, and directors of maintenance and operations. This role is approximately 50% new business development and 50% account management in Year 1, combining self-sourced prospecting into private fleets with a set of existing named accounts to manage and grow. Your territory is the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario, working from our client's Mississauga office when you are not with customers — not a remote or work-from-home role.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $90,000 – $115,000 CAD base salary
  • Commission plan targeting $90,000 – $100,000 CAD at plan, uncapped — bringing Year 1 OTE to approximately $190,000 – $200,000+ CAD at target (base + commission)
  • Car allowance, gas card, and 407 ETR transponder provided
  • Health benefits — company paid
  • RSP matching
  • Laptop and cell phone provided, e xpense account
  • Employee recognition, gifts, and rewards program
  • Company social events
  • Clear path to advancement into sales leadership

THE COMPANY & CULTURE

Founded more than 20 years ago, our client is a privately owned, well-established fleet maintenance services provider with deep roots in the commercial trucking industry. Headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, they service and repair tractors, trailers, tank trailers, and liftgates for commercial fleets through fixed service centres, mobile on-site maintenance units, and over-the-road breakdown response, supported by a proprietary managed-maintenance technology platform. Their primary clients are private fleets, with for-hire fleets as a secondary market, and their broader customer base includes major private and national fleet operators. The culture is values-driven and hands-on: the team works from the office when not in front of customers, with an emphasis on work ethic, early starts, and hustle. The sales team is supportive and experienced, with meaningful training and mentorship available, and the company is actively investing in growing its sales organization.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY

  • Head Office: Mississauga, Ontario
  • Work arrangement: Office-based + field. In the office when not visiting customers.
  • Sales territory: Greater Toronto Area / Southern Ontario, account-based
  • Client-facing expectations: a structured in-person visit cadence — weekly for top-tier accounts, bi-weekly for mid-tier accounts, and monthly for lower-tier accounts
  • Working hours: standard business hours, with early starts expected
  • Overnight travel: minimal to none, if any

EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5–15+ years of B2B sales experience, including a minimum of 5 years in maintenance sales (more senior candidates welcome — compensation flexes up for the right person)
  • B2B outside/field sales experience selling into commercial fleets — consultative, relationship-driven selling
  • Genuine, verifiable knowledge of the commercial trucking, transportation, or fleet-maintenance industry is required — a parts, aftermarket, or adjacent maintenance background is acceptable
  • Strong technical knowledge of commercial Class 8 truck maintenance — preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures
  • Experience selling to fleet managers, maintenance/shop managers, and directors of maintenance and operations
  • Education: not required — industry knowledge and sales track record are weighted more heavily than formal education
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel locally and regionally

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • CRM software — Microsoft Dynamics CRM preferred
  • Microsoft Office — standard proficiency
  • Comfortable presenting technology-based solutions to customers

THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION

  • Preventive maintenance and repair service agreements for tractors, trailers, tank trailers, and liftgates
  • Delivered through fixed service centres, mobile on-site maintenance units, and over-the-road breakdown response
  • Backed by a proprietary managed-maintenance technology platform, used as a service differentiator — not sold as a standalone product in this role

PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKER(S)

  • Private commercial fleets (primary focus) and for-hire fleets (secondary)
  • Fleets operating Class 8 tractors, trailers, tank trailers, and liftgates, generally in the 100–150 asset range
  • Geographic focus: Ontario, primarily the GTA and Southern Ontario
  • Primary decision-makers: fleet managers, maintenance/shop managers, and directors of maintenance and operations

SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE

  • Target contract value: approximately $350,000 – $500,000 per account

COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES

  • Decades of combined industry experience within company leadership
  • Broad service delivery model — fixed service centres, mobile on-site units, and over-the-road breakdown response
  • End-to-end managed-maintenance technology platform as a service differentiator
  • Reputation built on uptime, responsiveness, and service quality

TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES

  • 50% New Business Development
  • 50% Account Management

On a typical day, you will prospect and qualify new fleet maintenance opportunities through calls, networking, referrals, and internal task-management tools; manage a structured in-person visit cadence across your assigned accounts; run needs assessments and deliver proposals and brief technology demonstrations; and keep your CRM pipeline, competitive intelligence, and account notes current.

LEADS

  • A mix of self-sourced prospecting into private fleets and a set of existing named accounts to nurture and grow
  • Lead sources: daily outbound calls, professional networking, referrals, industry events and trade shows, and internal account-management task tools

OVERNIGHT TRAVEL

  • Minimal to none — overnight travel is rarely required, if at all
  • Local and regional day travel to customers, with occasional industry events and trade shows

SUPPORT & TRAINING

  • Supportive, experienced sales team with meaningful on-the-job training and mentorship available

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

  • Uncapped commission with a realistic Year 1 OTE of approximately $190,000 – $200,000+ CAD
  • Join an established, growing organization actively investing in its sales team
  • Clear path to advancement into sales leadership
  • Company vehicle or car allowance, 407 ETR transponder provided
  • Supportive, experienced team culture with hands-on training and mentorship
