Field Technician – Automated Gate Systems

Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Technician with a strong background in automated gate systems installation and service. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience fabricating, welding, and installing gate operators, access control systems, and related components. Candidates from the overhead door industry are encouraged to apply, as many of the required skills and knowledge directly overlap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain automated gate systems, access controls, and related safety devices.
  • Perform welding and metal fabrication for gate frames, posts, and supports.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in gate operators and control systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and system upgrades as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
  • Ensure all work meets company, manufacturer, and safety standards.
  • Interact professionally with customers on-site and provide excellent service.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report work progress to supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Required: Proven ability to weld (MIG/TIG/stick) and perform gate system installations.
  • Experience in automated gates, fencing, or overhead door systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and low-voltage wiring.
  • Ability to operate power tools, heavy equipment, and welding equipment safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Preferably possess a valid AR License
  • Must be able to pass a high-security background check
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
