The Opportunity

Our Client is building its architecture function — and the Solution Architect is where that work gets done at the solution level. You will be responsible for translating business and technical requirements into concrete, scalable, standards-aligned solution designs for one of the most complex integration landscapes in Canadian automotive finance.

The environment is genuinely interesting: the organization is decommissioning a legacy mainframe and designing its replacement integration architecture, running AWS as its cloud platform, managing connections across Salesforce, MuleSoft, and Defi, and building its AI governance capability. This is not a documentation or review role — it is hands-on architecture design work on greenfield problems.

What You Will Do

• Design pragmatic, scalable solutions aligned to enterprise architecture standards — translating requirements into designs that delivery teams can actually build from.
• Lead architecture design for the organization's complex integration landscape: interfaces between AWS, Salesforce, MuleSoft, Defi, and the mainframe replacement (Alpha platform).
• Partner daily with product owners, developers, and vendors — providing architecture guidance throughout design, build, and delivery.
• Evaluate AI/GenAI opportunities, define architecture patterns and controls, and embed Responsible AI practices into solution designs from day one.
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation that delivery teams and auditors can rely on: diagrams, interface contracts, and architecture decision records.
• Assess as-is system models, identify gaps, and shape target-state architecture for the solutions in your scope.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and bring relevant recommendations to the Enterprise Architect and delivery teams.

What We Are Looking For

Required

• 5+ years of hands-on solution architecture experience — conceptualization, modelling, and design across multiple platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to produce solution-level documentation: architecture diagrams, interface contracts, and architecture decision records.
• Experience implementing or supporting enterprise systems (CRM, financial platforms, DMS, or similar).
• Strong understanding of security-by-design — you build compliance in from the start, not as an afterthought.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive architecture decisions across cross-functional groups.

Preferred

• Experience with Salesforce, AWS, MuleSoft, or Defi Solutions.
• Financial services, banking, or regulated environment experience — FINTRAC familiarity is a plus.
• AI/GenAI architecture experience — build-vs.-buy evaluation, risk-first controls, responsible AI documentation.
• Experience working across complex, multi-platform integration landscapes.
• EA framework familiarity (TOGAF or equivalent) — not required, but helpful for alignment with governance standards.

What We Offer

• Base salary: $110,000 - $130,000
• Annual bonus eligibility
• Hybrid schedule: Tue/Wed/Thu in the Markham office
• Greenfield architecture work — you will design new integration patterns for a mainframe decommission, not just document what already exists
