Location: Burnaby Depot (2245 Douglas Rd, Burnaby)

Shift: Monday to Friday

Hours: 40 Hours per week. Flexiblity required

Pay-rate: $22.12 per hour, as per collective agreement (regular increases, as per collective agreement: $25.07 after 4 months, with a top rate of $37.38 per hour after 4 years)

Driver's License Requirement: Valid Class 5 license with three years of driving experience and no more than 4 demerits.


A Utility Courier picks up and delivers customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules and resolves problems as they arise. This positions covers assigned routes based on increased volume levels or coverage of other vacant routes.

Responsibilities

Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager
